An intimate affair
Now, as intimate wedding venues go, we don’t think anywhere could match the atmosphere of The Buttery.
Thought to be Glasgow’s oldest restaurant, you will be getting married in a part of Scottish hospitality’s Hall of Fame, a special venue for those seeking a venue a little more interesting than the norm.
Tradition lies at our very core, and we hold it dear to our hearts. From the Scottish-infused ornamentation to our team’s attire and, of course, the food.
Adorned with Timorous Beasties wallpaper, original fixtures and fittings that date back centuries, and some of the most incredible décor. This is the intimate wedding venue that dreams are made of.

The food
We all know that wedding food is more often than not, a little subpar.
That will never be an issue at The Buttery. Our trained chefs are all on hand to ensure that your guests enjoy the best experience possible, just as if you were dining in our restaurant.
Everything from canapes to starters, mains and desserts will be taken care of by Head Chef Craig Brown and his hardworking team.
We only use the finest of seasonal Scottish ingredients across all of our award-winning cooking, so you can be rest assured that you are getting the best, by the best.
The Buttery team
Traditional wedding venues can sometimes feel a little mass-produced, with many opting for agency staff to command an event. This often results in an experience that is missing that certain je ne sais quoi that an intimate setting like The Buttery can offer.
Our dedicated team aims to ensure that each guest feels not only welcome but also thoroughly enjoys their time with us. It’s this commitment to exceptional hospitality that keeps many familiar faces returning to our restaurant for years.

What our customers say…
As a couple we are true lovers of fabulous food and great wine - we searched for wedding venues that could deliver on all fronts, until we reflected, nowhere has all of this criteria without compromising somewhere……. With the exception of one place – The Buttery. It was, after all, our favourite restaurant.
A venue that meant something to us – Glasgow’s oldest restaurant – had family connections. Why wouldn’t you choose to have your special day in one of Scotland’s most treasured culinary gems. It has a history of creating exceptional quality food, using locally sourced produce served by staff that truly understand the meaning of outstanding service. Our wedding meal was curated by the head chef, and in food terms, the best meal we have ever tasted. Our family and friends still rave about it.
Led by some of the UK’s hospitality finest – Rory McGinley, the team delivered a truly memorable day – seamless, faultless, friendly – like they were our family.
If you are looking for a venue to get married in, to share your special moments, and to celebrate with the best food and wine in this land – you must choose the Buttery.
It is an incredibly special place.
